Tax Manager
Individual and business returns, the books and payroll underneath them, and the planning conversations they connect to.
KFG is a boutique firm advising business owners through the whole arc of ownership — building the value of a company, turning it into wealth, and stewarding what it becomes. These are the decisions that determine whether someone's life work becomes the retirement they pictured, or doesn't. You'd be close enough to watch it land.
KFG spent nearly three decades proving out a model: one team holding a business owner's entire picture — the company, the tax, the plan, the family — instead of a roster of specialists each holding a slice.
It works. What's happening now is the harder and more interesting part: scaling it. We're building the practice that carries the model past any single advisor's calendar, and a great deal of how it runs is being written this year.
Which means the work here isn't cookie cutter, and it isn't heading that way. Our clients are owners at genuine turning points of their own — growing a company, preparing to sell it, learning to live on what it became. The questions arrive complicated and mostly stay that way. You'd be hands-on with them early, rather than staged into them over five years.
You'd also see them land. The person who prepares the return is in the planning conversation that shaped it, so you'd know why an owner structured the entity the way they did, what the exit is supposed to look like in six years, and whether this year's work moved them closer to it.
Most of these families have been with us more than ten years. When a plan works, you get to watch it work — for people whose kids you've heard about, not a file number.
A boutique firm asks more of you. It also hands you the whole picture, which is the part most people never get.
Credentials matter, and the job description covers them. These are the things that actually predict whether someone thrives here.
A boutique firm can offer things a large one structurally can't: no politics to navigate, no queue to join, and senior people who are simply available to you. The rest is straightforward.
And the one that matters more than any of the above if you've worked a few busy seasons: we build for sustainable workloads. Structured workflows, preparation done up front, reasonable hours. We don't treat constant seventy-hour weeks as evidence of commitment — accuracy and judgment hold up better when people aren't running on empty, and our clients are the ones who benefit.
Compensation is listed in the job description.
Individual and business returns, the books and payroll underneath them, and the planning conversations they connect to.
Public portfolios built around concentrated positions and pending exits, independent diligence on the private deals clients bring us, and the models underneath both.
Building the plans our clients live by and keeping them true as the business and the household change — with the tax team down the hall.
Don't see the right fit? We're growing, and the next seat often isn't posted yet. Send us a note and we'll keep it in front of us.
Email your resume to info@kellercpa.com, and tell us in a few sentences what you're looking for. Skip the cover letter template — we'd rather read something true. Every note reaches a person here, and we answer.
